
Tarne Spilari means “young players” in Romanès language. Led by Aurélien and Shàrl Dragan, they perpetuate the tradition of Django Reinhardt, while sticking above all to the roots of the Gypsies. Always weaving an eclectic repertoire that includes Djangos melodies, favourite jazz standards, Gypsy Rumba songs (like Manitas de Plata) plus the edge of Gypsies canticles, own compositions and songs that sometimes swing, and sometimes flamenco all whilst melding the traditional with modern flavours, a recipe for excitement and foot tapping magic.
In the Thirties, whith the genius Django Reinhardt, was born the “gipsy swing”, a music inspired of the American Jazz which had imposed like one of most remarkable of the century, so much by its impact on the musicians, who by his fame near the public. The enthusiasm caused by Django Reinhardt n’ Stephan Grapelli’s formation : the “Hot club of France” led many musicians to enrich this musical style by new sonorities. Usualy, the young musiciens of the rates/rhythms of bossa nova and of rumba gipsy, of the spiced accents Eastern Europe’s music, as well as nostalgic song of french waltz .
